ABOUT LOLA LUXE TATTOO
Lola Luxe Tattoo is owned and operated by Jenny Marie Pederson. Jenny Marie moved to the Twin Cities nearly 20 years ago. She came for the arts and the music scene, but stayed for the people, the natural beauty and wildlife that can be found everywhere and anywhere in Minnesota. After studying the art of traditional tattooing, she found her true affinity and passion in permanent make-up.
The philosophy at Lola Luxe Tattoo is that each permanent makeup enhancement should emphasize a client’s natural beauty, while adding ease and confidence to the everyday experience. Jenny Marie views every appointment as a collaboration, where she helps each individual client achieve their specific goals and desires for their permanent makeup experience.
Jenny Marie is certified in nanobrows and looks forward to learning more PMU skills and techniques to better serve the unique needs of each client with an individually tailored experience. Currently, Lola Luxe offers permanent makeup brow work. More services and techniques coming soon!

About Brow Procedures
Microblading is a shallow form of the tattoo process for eyebrows. It differs from traditional tattoos in that the pigment is implemented through a series of fine, hair like strokes mimicking the hair pattern of the brow. The result is a realistic, natural looking brow, that's fuller, more even and helps bring balance to the face.
The tool used is a simple pen, similar to an Exacto knife, with a ‘blade’ comprised of tiny needles linearly aligned. The initial appointment Includes a brow consultation, measurements, pre-drawing your shape, color matching and brow application. This appointment lasts 3 hours.
The microblading application is at least a two part process, which includes a follow-up after 6 weeks. On average, the results last 12-18 months and can be maintained through touch up appointments.
Shading/Ombre brows is a form of tattooing the brows, however the pigment is only implanted in the top levels of the skin with a machine. The effect is a more 'filled in' look with definition that looks like it has been filled in softly with powder makeup. This technique is less traumatic than microblading to the skin and is preferred for oily, sensitive or mature skin types as well as those who prefer a more filled in look.
Am I eligible for permanent make-up procedures?
ANY PRIOR TATTOO/MICROBLADING ON YOUR BROWS, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE BOOKING.
If you have any of the following health conditions you are not eligible for permanent makeup procedures:
• Pregnant/nursing
• History of Keloids or Hypertrophic scarring
• Diabetic (require doctor’s clearance)
• Chemotherapy (consult your doctor)
• Take blood thinners
• Viral infections and/or diseases
• Epilepsy
• Pacemaker or major heart problems
• Organ transplant
• Rosacea
• Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn/heavily tanned skin, acne, etc.)
• Sick (cold, flu, etc.)
• Accutane in the past year
• Heart conditions, Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure, Poor general health.
• Any treatment, medication, or illness that compromises the immune system / healing
Some other factors that may affect the outcome:
Color retention and overall results are different for each individual. Factors such as sun exposure, skin type, aftercare, lifestyle and skin tone determine how you heal.
For brows
OILY SKIN - tends to 'push out' the pigment quicker, and may need more frequent touch ups. Strokes may heal blurry or not take, Powder/Ombre brows is recommended.
DEEP SKINTONES - will have less contrast and may heal more powdery or solid looking from microblading, Powder/Ombre brows are recommended.
MATURE SKIN (60+) - is generally very fine, delicate and thin. Clients may experience some loss of detail, discoloration or blurring from microblading. A combo or Powder/Ombre is recommended.
What is the brow healing process?
Day 1 - brows will appear sharp, detailed, slightly red or irritated
Day 2-4- brows become darker and raised as they form a light scab. Color in this phase will appear 40-60% darker than healed result.
Day 5-12- the scab naturally exfoliates, peels and flakes away over the course of several days. DO NOT PICK. The fresh skin underneath is whitish with a waxy coating, brows will appear lighter than final result
Day 10-30 - The color will slowly come back darker as the new skin settles and heals. Wait at least 4 weeks to see the true color. Your second appointment is to fine tune your shape, fill in any areas, touch up any light spots and also to assess how your skin reacts to the process, and the chosen color.
What should I avoid after getting my brows done?
• You may shower or bathe, but avoid getting your brows wet, or any harsh soaps, shampoos, or allow the shower to spray directly on your face for 10-14 days (until all the scabs are off) as this can disrupt the bonding process for the pigment to stabilize in the skin.
• DO NOT pick or scratch at the dry skin/flakiness; let the skin fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and the pigment to come off with the scab. Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will cover the hair strokes. Within 1-2 weeks, the hair strokes will slowly reappear at a lighter shade.
• DO NOT apply make-up to the tattooed area for the first 10-14 days.
• DO NOT use Vaseline, Neosporin or other petroleum based products while healing.
• DO NOT bleach, tint or dye the brow area for one month following the procedure.
• DO NOT apply any anti-acne products (e.g. Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Proactiv, etc.) or lightening creams such as hydroquinone to the treated area while healing.
• DO NOT apply facial products containing Alpha Hydroxyls (AHAs), Retin-A, Lactic or Glycolic Acids
• DO NOT thread, wax, or use hair removal products on brows while healing.
• NO exercising and/or excessive sweating one day prior to microblading and for 10 days after. Sweating will cause the hair strokes to blur or push the pigment out.
• NO sun exposure, swimming pools, jacuzzis, saunas or other bodies of water for two weeks.
• DO NOT submerge brows in water
How long before an event should I book my appointment?
I recommend new clients book their first session at least 3-4 months before vacations or special events. This allows time for the initial application to heal as well as the touch-up appointment 4-6 weeks after.
